- Thanks to the water cooling, the charge air is cooled by more than 30°C compared to conventional intercoolers. This resultsin a 10% increase in power at the same boost pressure. The throttle response is more aggressive because the charge air pathways are short.

Description:
The water-cooled intercooler system is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber for the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, which increases power and efficiency. The cooler the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger, because the turbocharger requires less rotational speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced, and the engine achieves slightly better emissions, provided the control unit is adjusted accordingly. For water-cooled intercoolers, it is important to install the largest possible water-cooled intercooler with a pump. These intercoolers can be used with turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting one, care should be taken to ensure that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this will impair throttle response; however, it should not be too small either. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast housings and features a bar-and-plate core, ideal for motorsports and tuning. Every intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before shipment.
