Description:You will receive a genuine Garrett turbocharger from us. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure that the turbos are genuine. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, which means you always get a top product. This includes a 1,000-hour endurance test on an engine in a Garrett engineering laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is carried out, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing, finely balanced, and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series, which are mostly slide bearing. The GTX series differs from the regular GT series in that it has a special, larger compressor wheel with multiple blades, which leads to more power and somewhat better response. It is important that ball bearing turbochargers do not receive too much oil pressure. For this reason, an oil restrictor with a 0.9 mm bore is used at the oil inlet. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400–500 rpm earlier than a slide bearing turbo. When choosing the right turbocharger, ask us or check directly on the manufacturer's homepage http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. All information such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map and drawings can be found there.
