Description:
The upgrade intercooler is installed at the front, between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. It is simply replaced 1:1 with the original one. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air that is heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber at the same volume and more fuel can be burned, thus increasing power output and efficiency. The lower the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine and turbocharger, as less engine speed is required for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine gets slightly better emission values, provided the control unit is adapted accordingly. It is important that the intercooler gets as much airflow as possible. The coolers can be used for turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. The intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast boxes and has a bar'n plate mesh, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
