Product Description

The all-aluminum radiator for the VW Golf 3 VR6 (2.8L and 2.9L) was developed without compromise for use under extreme thermal conditions. Especially with VR6 turbo conversions, the stock cooling system very quickly reaches its physical limits. Due to the exhaust gas turbocharger, increased compression (or reduced compression ratio), and higher boost pressure, massive heat buildup occurs in the engine compartment.

This high-performance radiator replaces the standard plastic/aluminum radiator with a fully welded aluminum construction. It provides the essential cooling reserve that a performance-tuned VR6 Turbo requires to reliably prevent heat-related power losses or severe engine damage.

Why an upgrade is essential for VR6 turbo conversions:

• Thermal Relief Under Boost: A stock VR6 is already prone to high wastegate and oil temperatures due to thermal factors. A turbocharger generates additional heat in the Golf 3’s cramped engine compartment. The 42 mm-thick all-aluminum radiator ensures drastically accelerated heat dissipation.

• Pressure stability under full load: Increased boost pressures and higher flow rates in the cooling system often cause the vulnerable OEM radiators with plastic water tanks to burst or develop leaks at the sealing surfaces.
