Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The aim of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber with the same volume and more fuel can be burned, which increases the power output and efficiency. The lower the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine, the turbocharger, because it requires less speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided the control unit is adapted accordingly. For intercoolers with water cooling, it is important that the largest possible water cooler with pump is installed. The coolers can be used on turbocharged diesel and petrol engines. When selecting the intercooler, care should be taken to ensure that it is not too large for the engine, as this would impair the response behavior, and it should not be too small either. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast boxes and has a bar'n plate mesh, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested to 5 bar before delivery.
