Description:We offer genuine Garrett turbochargers. We obtain these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure that the turbos are genuine. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers who subject their turbos to several qualification tests, which means that you always get a top product. Among other things, a 1000-hour durability test is carried out on an engine in a Garrett Engineering laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is carried out, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, precision balanced and oil and water cooled. There is still the older generation T series, these are mostly plain bearing. The GTX series differs from the normal GT in that it features a special, larger compressor wheel with multiple blades which leads to more power and slightly better response. It is important with ball bearing turbochargers that they do not receive too much oil pressure. That is why an oil restrictor with a 0.9 mm bore is used at the oil inlet. A ball bearing turbo reacts around 400-500 rpm earlier compared to a plain bearing one. If you are unsure about choosing the right turbocharger, ask us or check directly on the manufacturer's homepage http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. All the information such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map and drawings can be found there.
