Description:We offer genuine Garrett turbochargers. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure that the turbos are genuine. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers to subject the turbos to multiple qualification tests, meaning that you always get a top product. Among other things, a 1,000-hour durability test is carried out on an engine in a Garrett engineering laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum bearing system tolerance is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is carried out etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing, finely balanced and oil and water cooled. There is still the older generation T Series, which are mostly plain bearing. The GTX series differs from the standard GT in that it has a special, larger compressor wheel with multiple blades, which leads to more power and a slightly better response. It is important that ball bearing turbochargers do not receive too much oil pressure. For this reason, an oil restrictor with 0.9mm bore is used in the oil supply. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 rpm earlier than a plain bearing one. When selecting the right turbocharger, please ask us or check directly on the manufacturer's homepage http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. All specifications such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map and drawings are available there.
