Description:With us you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, which means you always get a top product. For example, a 1000-hour durability test is carried out on an engine in a Garrett engineering laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is also carried out etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing, finely balanced and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series; these are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the regular GT in that these have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, resulting in higher performance and slightly better response. It is important for ball bearing turbochargers that they do not receive too much oil pressure. That is why an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used for the oil feed. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 rpm earlier than a sleeve bearing turbo. If you have questions about choosing the right turbocharger, ask us or check directly on the manufacturer's homepage http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. All information such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map and drawings can be found there.
