Description:With us you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure that the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, which means you always get a top product. Among other things, a 1000-hour durability test is carried out on an engine in a Garrett engineering laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked, as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is carried out etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing, finely balanced and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series; these are mostly plain bearing. The GTX series differs from the normal GT in that it has a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, which provides more power and slightly better response. It is important with the ball bearing turbochargers that they do not get too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used for the oil inlet. A ball bearing turbo responds comparatively about 400-500 rpm earlier than a plain bearing one. When selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or check the manufacturer's homepage directly http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. All information such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map and drawings is available there.
