Description:With us you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We obtain these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to multiple qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. Among other things, a 1000-hour durability test is carried out on an engine in a Garrett engineering laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is performed etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing mounted, finely balanced and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series, which are mostly plain bearing mounted. The GTX series differs from the normal GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, which results in more power and slightly better response. It is important with the ball bearing turbochargers that they do not get too much oil pressure. For this reason, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used in the oil supply. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 rpm earlier than a plain bearing turbo. When selecting the right turbocharger, please ask us or check directly on the manufacturer's homepage http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. All relevant details such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map and drawings are available there.
