The operation is quite simple:

When closed, the exhaust gases are routed through the muffler; as soon as the flap is open, a portion flows through a continuous pipe, making the exhaust louder. The pressure-controlled flap is closed under vacuum; it opens as soon as positive pressure / boost pressure is generated. A hose is routed from the intake manifold to the flap’s pressure chamber, or the flap is controlled via a remote control or switch. For this purpose, a pulse valve is installed in the hose.
