Stainless steel vacuum-controlled exhaust flap – for custom exhaust systems

A vacuum-controlled exhaust flap allows for precise control of the exhaust flow in a custom-built exhaust system. It is particularly suitable for the construction of sports and tuning exhaust systems, as well as for custom exhaust designs.

The valve is actuated via a vacuum port and, depending on the version, can be integrated into the exhaust system. It is controlled via the vehicle’s standard flap control system, provided the vehicle is equipped with a corresponding factory-installed control system.

How does a vacuum-controlled exhaust valve work?

The exhaust valve features a pneumatic vacuum port. When vacuum is applied, the port actuates the valve mechanism via a linkage, thereby altering the exhaust flow.

Actuation is handled by the vehicle’s OEM vacuum system or its factory flap control system. Depending on the vehicle and control strategy, this enables the flap to open or close automatically.

Important: The valve is not designed as a standalone radio control system. Manual operation via remote control is not included with this product.

Valve Control System Variants

Depending on the design and vehicle application, different modes of operation are possible:

• Normally Open (NO): The valve is open when no vacuum is applied and closes when vacuum is applied.
• Normally Closed (NC): The flap is closed when no vacuum is applied and opens when vacuum is applied.

Which version is suitable for a particular vehicle depends on the standard flap control system and the intended installation concept.

Usage Instructions

The exhaust valve is designed for installation in custom-made exhaust systems. To function properly, the valve must be connected to a suitable vacuum source and the corresponding vehicle control system.

Compatibility with the standard valve control system must be verified before purchase. Not every vehicle is equipped with a suitable factory-installed vacuum control system.

Installation should be performed by a qualified specialist shop.
