- Thanks to the water cooling, the charge air is cooled by more than 30°C compared to conventional intercoolers. This resultsin a 10% increase in power at the same boost pressure. The throttle response is more aggressive because the charge air pathways are short.

Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber at the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, which increases power and efficiency. The cooler the charge air is, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger, because the turbocharger requires a lower rotational speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced, and the engine achieves slightly better emissions, provided the control module is adjusted accordingly. Care should be taken to ensure that the intercooler receives as much airflow as possible. These intercoolers can be used with turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting an intercooler, care should be taken to ensure that it is not too large for the engine, as this will impair throttle response; nor should it be too small. The intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast housings and features a bar-and-plate core, making it ideal for motorsports and tuning. Every intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before shipment.
