Description:
The intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The aim of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber with the same volume and more fuel can be burned, which increases the power output and efficiency. The lower the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine, the turbocharger because it requires less speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided the control unit is adapted accordingly. It is important to ensure that the intercooler gets as much airflow as possible. The coolers can be used on turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting the intercooler, care should be taken to ensure that it is not too large for the engine, as this would impair the response behavior, nor should it be too small. The intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast boxes, has five mounting points with M8 threads and a bar'n plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
