Description:
The upgrade intercooler is installed in the wheel well, between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. It is simply swapped out for the original on a 1:1 basis. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber at the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, thereby increasing power and efficiency. The cooler the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger because it requires lower RPM for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced, and  the engine achieves slightly better emissions, provided the ECU is adjusted accordingly. Care must be taken to ensure that the intercooler receives as much airflow as possible. These coolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting an intercooler, care should be taken to ensure that it is not too large for the engine, as this will impair responsiveness; however, it should not be too small either. The intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast housings and has a Bar’n Plate mesh, ideal for motorsports and tuning. Every intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before shipment.
