- The intercooler is supplied without mounting parts. An extra water circuit with pump and cooler (e.g. 19-row oil cooler) is required.

Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber at the same volume and more fuel can be burned, thus increasing power and efficiency. The lower the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine, and the turbocharger, since it requires less speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine receives slightly better emission values, provided the control unit is adjusted accordingly. With water-cooled intercoolers it is important that as large a water cooler with pump as possible is installed. The coolers can be used with turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When choosing, care should be taken that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this would impair response, but it should not be too small either. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast end tanks and has a bar 'n plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
