The GTX series differs from the regular GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel which results in more power and slightly better response. It is important with ball bearing turbochargers that they do not get too much oil pressure.
That is why an oil restrictor with a 0.9 mm bore is used on the oil inlet. The company began in 1936 with its founder Cliff Garrett. The first products were manufactured in a one-room office in Los Angeles. Today, the Garrett company is an integral part of the tuning market.
