Technical Description of the Closed Bypass Valve

The Forge Motorsport FMDV008 serves as a high-quality replacement for the factory-installed plastic diaphragm valve. Especially in turbocharged engines with performance upgrades, increased boost pressure often leads to leaks or defects in the original diaphragm valves.

Function and Intended Use: When the throttle valve closes (e.g., during gear shifting), the valve directs excess boost pressure back into the intake tract upstream of the turbocharger in a controlled manner (recirculating system). Thanks to its aluminum piston valve design, it offers significantly higher pressure stability and durability than the stock components. Its precise mechanical operation prevents measurement errors in engines equipped with a mass airflow sensor (MAF), effectively avoiding fault code entries in the engine control unit or RPM fluctuations ("jerks") after shifting.
