The intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber for the same volume, allowing more fuel to be burned, thereby increasing performance and efficiency. The lower the charge air temperature, the lower the thermal load on the engine and turbocharger, as it requires less speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided the control unit is adapted accordingly. It is important to ensure that the intercooler gets as much airflow as possible. The coolers can be used with turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting, care should be taken that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this impairs responsiveness; nor should it be too small. The intercooler offered here is made completely of aluminum with cast boxes, has five mounting points with M8 threads and a bar'n plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
