Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber at the same volume and more fuel can be burned, which increases power and efficiency. The lower the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine and the turbocharger, as it requires less rpm for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine receives slightly better emission values, provided the control unit is adjusted accordingly. For water-cooled intercoolers, it is important that the largest possible water cooler with pump is installed. The coolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When choosing, make sure the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this would impair response, nor too small. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast boxes and has a bar'n plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
