- Water cooling lowers the charge air temperature by more than 30°C compared to conventional charge air coolers. This results in a 10% increase in power at the same boost pressure. The response behavior is more aggressive, as the charge air paths are short.

Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The aim of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber with the same volume and more fuel can be burned, which increases the power output and efficiency. The lower the charge air, the lower is the thermal load on the engine, the turbocharger because it requires less speed for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided the control unit is adapted accordingly. For intercoolers with water cooling, it is important that the largest possible water cooler with pump is installed. The coolers can be used on turbocharged diesel and petrol engines. When selecting the intercooler, care should be taken to ensure that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this would impair the response behavior, nor should it be too small. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast boxes and has a bar'n plate mesh, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested on site up to 4 bar before delivery.
