- The water cooling reduces the charge air temperature by more than 30°C compared to conventional charge air coolers. This results in a 10% increase in power at the same boost pressure.
- The intercooler is supplied without attachments. An extra water circuit with pump and cooler (e.g. 19-row oil cooler) is required.

Description:
The water-cooled intercooler is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The aim of an intercooler is to cool the air heated by the turbocharger. By cooling the compressed air, more air mass enters the combustion chamber at the same volume and more fuel can be burned, thus increasing power output and efficiency. The lower the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine and on the turbocharger because less speed is required for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided the control unit has been adapted accordingly. For water-cooled intercoolers, it is important to install the largest possible water cooler with pump. The coolers can be used for turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When choosing, care should be taken that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this would reduce response, but it should not be too small either. The water-cooled intercooler offered here is made entirely of aluminum with cast tanks and has a bar'n plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
