TiAL Q 50mm Blow-Off Valve (BOV) - silver

The TiAL Q 50mm Blow-Off Valve is a high-performance blow-off valve for turbocharged gasoline engines. It was specifically developed for use in motorsports and for heavily modified vehicles. With maximum flow capacity and minimal response time, the valve ensures efficient pressure relief in the intake tract and effectively protects the turbocharger’s compressor from transient pressure spikes (compressor surging) during load changes.

Technical Features & Design

• Material & Construction: Fully CNC-machined housing made of high-strength aluminum (6061-T6) for maximum structural rigidity and thermal stability.

• Flow Optimization: The 50-mm valve offers the highest flow capacity in the TiAL portfolio and is designed for extreme boost pressures and high air mass flow rates.

• Response Characteristics: A weight-optimized valve design and a highly flexible diaphragm ensure minimal response times during sudden throttle closure, thereby reducing turbo lag.

• Acoustics: Flow-optimized design to reduce high-frequency flow noise while maximizing the relief volume.

Function and Performance Benefits

When the throttle valve closes under load, a pressure wave is generated that would otherwise strike the rotating compressor wheel of the turbocharger unchecked. The TiAL Q BOV vents this excess pressure within milliseconds. This prevents the rotor assembly from being abruptly decelerated, protects the turbocharger’s bearings, and ensures significantly better responsiveness (recharge pressure build-up) when accelerating again.

System Compatibility

The valve is universally applicable and compatible with nearly all turbocharger systems as well as custom intercooler piping. Fine-tuning to the respective intake manifold vacuum at idle is achieved via the integrated valve spring.
