Intercooler kit

The intercooler kit is installed between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air heated by the turbocharger. This process compresses the air, allowing more air mass to enter the combustion chamber at the same volume. This enables more fuel to be burned – power and efficiency increase. The cooler the charge air, the lower the thermal load on the engine or turbocharger, because less RPM is required for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is reduced and the engine achieves slightly better emissions, provided the control unit is adjusted accordingly. The intercoolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When selecting one, you should also check that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this can impair responsiveness; nor should it be too small.
